Survivors of homicide victims & mental health: Service provider focus group
Led by The Centre for Research and Innovation for Black Survivors of Homicide Victims (The CRIB), the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, and the Canadian Mental Health Association Ontario (CMHA Ontario), the Survivors of Homicide Victims and Mental Health Project is exploring the impact of supporting surviving family members and friends of murdered victims (survivors), and the service providers that support them.
This project aims to understand how survivors cope, identify the systemic barriers to accessing trauma-informed and culturally responsive care, as well as understand the impact that supporting survivors has on service providers and develop culturally responsive and trauma-informed best practices for engaging in your work.
If you are a service provider who:
- supports survivors from Indigenous communities, African, Caribbean and Black (ACB) communities, and other racialized communities
- provides services in Brantford, Ottawa, Thunder Bay, Toronto, or Windsor
This initiative needs to hear your voice.
Focus groups will be held virtually and are expected to be between 60-80 minutes in length. Please select a date and time that work for you and register online. Virtual meeting details will be shared with each registrant via email.
