University of Windsor counselling program now open to general public for COVID-related concerns
A free University of Windsor counselling program, 'Caring for our Caregivers' is expanding their reach to the general public in Windsor-Essex for COVID-related concerns.
This initiative started at the beginning of June, and was originally intended to help provide free therapy supports for frontline healthcare staff. Josee Jarry, University of Windsor psychology professor and registered psychologist, says healthcare-sector managers have been keen on the program, but uptake has been less than expected.
A new website for the program is now available at uwindsortherapy.com to help people access free services. People can also call the University of Windsor Psychological Services and Research Centre at 519-973-7012 to be connected with a therapist.
