AgCulture: Improving Cultural Competence with Rural Clients
January 27, 2022 @ 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. ET
Presented by: The Do More Agriculture Foundation and Lauren Van Ewyk, M.Sc. MHC, RSW
This 4-module webinar, virtually facilitated over one afternoon will bridge the gap in agriculture industry knowledge and help to enhance the therapeutic relationship between mental health professionals and Canadian farmers. A recent report from Farm Management Canada indicated that farmers are 40% more likely to reach out for help to someone who understands the agriculture industry.
This program is designed to ensure that health professionals gain understanding into the unique challenges, needs, and barriers that farmers and their loved ones face when seeking help. Learn strategies to build an effective therapeutic alliance, and practical application skills that are meaningful for this population.
This Webinar is FREE for Ontario Registered Social Workers (RSW), Registered Social Service Workers (RSSW) and Students of Social Work and Social Service Work Programs. Please note: If you are not an RSW, RSSW or student of these programs in Ontario, you may still attend but will be charged a nominal fee of $35.
