Apply for the SPARK Training Program: Aug 6-8, 2019!
Event date: -
Event type: Single day (a day or less)
Did you know that it can take more than 10 years for evidence-based knowledge to be translated into best practice? The Mental Health Commission of Canada’s SPARK Training Program helps participants apply techniques for moving evidence-informed research and knowledge in mental health, substance use, and addictions more quickly into practice, closing the gap between what we know and what we do.
SPARK brings together professionals, policy-makers, researchers, and volunteers working in mental health and addictions for training with knowledge translation experts. SPARK is an engaging and practical, hands-on two-and-a-half-day workshop with high-profile speakers and experienced mentors who will help participants design and implement knowledge translation plans for initiatives in their own organizations or within their community. The workshop includes networking opportunities, post-workshop assignments and, most importantly, ongoing mentoring.
Applications are welcome from everyone, including:
- People who have experienced a mental illness or mental health problem;
- Family caregivers;
- Professionals working, or volunteering, in mental health, substance use, and addictions, researchers and policy makers;
- Indigenous organizations; and
- Individuals who have an idea for knowledge translation, but need training and mentoring support to put it into action.
Application deadline: Friday, June 14th at 5:00pm ET
