This full day course is tailored to meet your needs. You will learn practical techniques for using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to improve the well-being of the caregivers and the individuals with autism. You will learn how to help caregivers manage stress and burnout, how to assist them in managing challenging behaviors, how to help them in finding a balance between caring for the child and themselves, and how to help them in communicating and connecting with the child.
Through interactive exercises and real-life examples, this course will outline the six main ACT processes. You will discover powerful tools such as the ACT Matrix, Bullseye, Values, Present Moment and Defusion Exercises that can be used with clients to address these challenges.
