This course will build on the “Community-based Social Work in Policymaking: Giving Power Back to the Profession” webinar and take a deeper dive into the topics outlined.

Discussion topics will include:

  • Defining Policy Practice
  • Identifying the differences between and jurisdictional responsibilities of each level of Canadian government (municipal, provincial and federal)
  • Exploration of the Policy Development Cycle and the most effective entry points for structural policy advocacy
  • Definition of Black Diplomacy and its use in community-based practice
