2) Highlight key barriers to care impacting management

3) Review of available literature supporting an evidence based approach to support GBM clients with addiction

4) Brief introduction to Rainbow Services, LGBTQ addictions counselling, provided at CAMH

Presenter: Dr. Matthew Haaland

Dr. Haaland has been an advocate in his role as the global health representative in the Queen’s medicine student government, co-authoring a CFMS position paper on transgender health, and co-leading a community support group for LGBTQ individuals in Kingston. His additional work related to LGBTQ health includes developing curricular additions for LGBTQ health needs and historical review of HIV in Kingston. His primary interests in psychiatry include mental health for marginalized populations and improving access to care.
