CCSA webinar: Reducing Substance Use Stigma: The Role of First Responders / Réduire la stigmatisation liée à l’usage de substances : le rôle des premiers répondants
Event date: -
Event type: Single day (a day or less)
Stigma is one of the biggest barriers people face when seeking and receiving care for substance use disorders. Direct service workers, including the law enforcement community, are often the first to respond to crisis situations with people experiencing substance-related harms, and they can play a major role in overcoming that stigma.
This webinar, targeted at members of the law enforcement community, will focus on reducing stigma by increasing awareness and understanding of substance use and its relationship to mental health.
Discussion topics include:
Substance use and its relationship to mental health
Stigma as a barrier for people seeking and accessing care
The relationship between stigma and substance use and its impact on law enforcement personnel, their families, and the communities they serve

l’usage de substances et ses liens avec la santé mentale;
la stigmatisation en tant qu’obstacle qui empêche de demander et de recevoir de l’aide;
