Description: Supervision is more than oversight—it’s an opportunity to guide, mentor, and empower others. This certificate program helps you build the confidence and skills to lead effectively, from setting expectations and managing performance to coaching staff, navigating challenges, and fostering strong, supportive teams.
This training gives professionals the opportunity to strengthen their leadership proficiency and further develop the practical skills needed to be a more effective supervisor in health and human services.
Supervision and leadership in the helping professions come with unique challenges that require tailored solutions. This program offers practical leadership and supervisory tools specifically designed to address these distinct challenges.
Consisting of four comprehensive modules, this program is designed to equip new, aspiring and existing supervisors with essential leadership skills. Each module delves into a vital dimension of effective leadership, providing practical insights and strategies for success.
This program is offered as an open module series, allowing the flexibility to register for any of the four individual modules or the entire series, depending on your learning objectives. Whether you choose to join one module or all four, this series aims to provide valuable insights and practical tools for those looking to enhance their supervisory/leadership skills.
Modules:
- February 24, 2026: Essential skills for the new supervisor - Explore the basics of supervision, such as how to set clear expectations, delegate, provide feedback and coach staff members.
- February 26, 2026: Leadership and motivation - Examine leadership tools that motivate staff members to achieve peak performance and embrace change.
- March 24, 2026: Holding difficult conversations - Understand how to prepare for and conduct any difficult conversation.
- March 26, 2026: Cultivating your credibility and influence - Learn how to engage people in a way that gains their trust and respect; how to create conditions for a beneficial and positive working relationship with others.
Please note: This is a four-module/webinar certificate program. You must complete all four modules within a year to obtain the certificate. Each of the modules may be taken on their own as a stand-alone training.
