Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a serious and preventable issue that affects many couples across the world. The COVID-19 pandemic has recently added additional stress onto households increasing the risk of IPV.

Join U of T's Faculty of Medicine for a discussion specific to IPV during COVID-19 for health care workers. Our speakers will discuss:

  • The definition, Canadian prevalence, and various clinical presentations of IPV
  • How IPV may be impacted by disaster situations (including the COVID-19 pandemic) through literature review
  • Trauma-informed approaches to suspected IPV or to an IPV disclosure by a patient
