Critical Youth Mentorship: A Youth Work Teach-In
Event date: -
Event type: Single day (a day or less)
"[A] mentor doesn’t just get through a checklist, but has to see a youth – their strengths, their aspirations – and then help these to find expression and be nurtured in collective experiences.” - Neda Farahmandpour
How can we expand our understandings of youth mentorship in ways that centre the strengths and voices of young people, promote intergenerational and multidirectional learning, and advance social justice?
In celebration of National Mentoring Month, YouthREX and MENTOR Canada are excited to host this event to explore inclusive, equitable, and meaningful approaches to youth mentorship.
The event will feature keynotes by Dr. Jean Rhodes and Larissa Crawford, panels of youth programs sharing critical mentorship practices, and spoken word performances.
