DBT Unlocked: Mastering the Basics for Social Workers

November 2, 2023 12:00 p.m  to 1:30 p.m. ET

Presented by: Laval Martin, BSW, MSW, RSW

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy ( DBT) is an empirically-supported therapeutic modality which belongs to the third wave of cognitive behavioural therapies.

This introductory webinar will provide an overview of DBT and also critically examine it from an anti-oppressive lens. Participants will understand the overall structure of DBT and which populations are most likely to benefit from it. The webinar will introduce the four pillars of DBT: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, along with some example skills from each pillar. Participants will gain several practical tools (which they can begin to practice with their clients, immediately) and suggestions for future learning.

This Webinar is FREE for everyone!
