Depression and the Workplace: Toward a Collaborative Approach
Event date: -
Event type: Single day (a day or less)
Depression and other mental health issues have a substantial effect on the workforce in Canada. Approximately 500,000 Canadians will not be at work in any week due to a mental health disorder, and more than twice that number will work at a reduced level of productivity. Yet there is no widely accepted clinical tool or measure for determining if a person’s depression is caused or triggered by factors at their job. Register HERE
Depression in the workplace is rife with obstacles for everyone involved: the person living with the disorder, their doctor or clinician, their employer and insurance provider. In many cases, it can be further complicated by administrative processes and red tape. This can lead people to feel confused, frustrated or overwhelmed.
Join us for an insightful conversation addressing the critical need for a collaborative approach to managing depression in the workplace. We will discuss how integrated care can break down barriers and foster improved communication, collaboration and trust. This free, public event is open to all. A moderated discussion will be followed by a live Q&A with audience members.
This event will be recorded and posted on our YouTube page.
