Overview


This interactive presentation provides an overview of two digital mental health technologies: A4i (App4Independence), a platform for supporting people with severe mental health and addiction challenges. Currently, it supports the recovery processes in psychosis, schizophrenia and (newly) opioid use disorders. Hope By CAMH, an app for people experiencing suicidal thoughts. It provides suicide prevention information, evidence-based tools, and crisis resources.

Meet the presenters

Sean A. Kidd, Ph.D., C.Psych.
Sean is a clinical psychologist by training and a senior scientist and the psychology division chief at CAMH. His work includes the development and testing of interventions for youth experiencing homelessness, people with severe mental illness, and the health equity implications of climate change. He has been working in the area of digital mental health for the past eight years.

Gillian Strudwick, RN, PhD.
Gillian is a registered nurse, holding the positions of Scientific Director (interim) of the Digital Innovation Hub, senior scientist within the Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics, and Chief Clinical Informatics Officer at CAMH. As a tri-council funded researcher, she conducts research at the intersection of mental health, digital health
