Part 1: An Introduction to the Essential Components of DBT | April 4 & 5, 2019
This introductory 2-day workshop will provide participants with the following:
- Theoretical underpinnings of DBT.
- Standard components of DBT.
- Group and individual components.
- DBT skills from each of the four modules.
- Conceptualize borderline personality disorder.
- Bio-social theory.
- Behavioural analysis.
- Solution analysis.
- Balance validation and change strategies.
- Ability to teach select DBT skills to clients
Part 2: Formulating Effective Treatment Plans for Complex Clients | May 30 & 31, 2019
Those who have already taken a foundational training in DBT will learn:
- DBT-based case formulation.
- Case-conceptualization from a DBT perspective.
- The controlling variables of problematic behaviour.
- Recognize and address secondary targets.
- Avoid becoming polarized with clients.
- Coaching clients in crisis.
- Setting personal limits.
- Strategies to avoid personal burnout.
- Enhanced skills for working with high-risk, multi-disordered clients.
Part 3: Individualized Clinical Consultation in DBT Informed Treatment
Limit 5 Participants | 10 weeks starting June 6, 2019
Using audio/videotaped therapy sessions, participants will benefit from:
- Individualized feedback on your delivery of DBT informed practice.
- Suggestions based on DBT core competencies.
- Greater focus on DBT conceptualization and treatment planning.
- Increased ability to identify potential barriers.
- Increased ability to implement relevant strategies.
- Increased proficiency in offering DBT.
- Enhanced level of adherence to the model
How much does it cost?

The standard fees are outlined below for you, alternatively the more links can provide you with further details along with the early registration fees/deadlines.
Part 1: $550 for the 2-day training
Part 2: $500 if registered by April 12 ($550 after April 12)
Register for Part 1 AND Part 2 prior to March 21st to receive $100 credit toward future training with us.
Part 3: $2000 for the 10 week Individualized Clinical Consultation in DBT Informed Treatment.

We are a tiny grass roots charitable organization and yet we would be helped greatly if some of our volunteer staff could acquire skills in interacting with needy clients. Hi Kathleen, I am not sure where to tell you to go for training. I am sure that there are 1-day training and even webinars available for your volunteers. Perhaps post a question in the events/news forum here on EEnet, I am sure someone could provide you with some valuable feedback.
