About the event:
Join Drs. Zachary Adirim and Michael Mak to learn about your internal body clock and how it regulates our mood and bodily processes. We will review the possible effects to your mind and body if your internal body clock is out of sync, and learn tips to ensure that your internal body clock is synchronized with the natural environment for better health.
Michael Mak (he/him) is a sleep medicine specialist and staff psychiatrist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Dr. Mak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. His academic interests include medical education, simulation as a teaching modality in Psychiatry, management of insomnia and the study of sleep disorders in psychiatric patients. He is currently the Site Director for Undergraduate Medical Education at CAMH and the PGY5 coordinator for the postgraduate Psychiatry training program at the University of Toronto. He serves on the Education Committee of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He was named Fellow of the Canadian Psychiatric Association in 2022.
Zachary Adirim (he/him) is a senior psychiatry resident physician at the University of Toronto. His academic interests include sleep and circadian medicine, the relationship between neuropsychiatric conditions and sleep and circadian health, and medical education. He is currently based at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and the University Health Network.
