Claw machines, also known as crane games, are a common attraction in arcades, malls, and entertainment centers, enjoyed by people of all ages. However, they are often overlooked as chance-based games that share similarities with gambling.
What we did?
As part of our research, the YGAP team:
- Visited multiple claw machine arcades to observe firsthand how they operate
- Explored different machine types and the variety of prizes offered
- Analyzed the cost of play and odds of winning
- Took note of signage, messaging, and the overall design and layout of arcades
- Investigated the appeal and psychological tactics used to keep players engaged
What we'll cover in this webinar?
In this interactive session, we’ll share the results of our team’s field research and observations, and we’ll explore:
