Helping Families Heal: Addressing and treating trauma in children, youth and families

This training is suitable for: Child and youth workers, nurses, early childhood educators, child protection workers and other social service counsellors who provide counselling and support to children and adolescents in community-based settings.

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to recognize the effects of trauma in children and adolescents, understand the many manifestations of complex developmental trauma and how to incorporate this understanding into their work. Ms. Lawford will provide strategies to assist in the stabilization and support of youth with traumatic histories as well as steps in how to use relationship.
