Hypnosis is an evidence-based treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). There is a large body of medical evidence that unresolved PTSD has a significant impact on both mental and physical health, affects the ability to work, affects personal relationships and, ultimately, reduces life expectancy. Resolving PTSD will improve quality of life and will have a lasting benefit to the overall health of the patient or client.

A clinician can use hypnotherapy techniques to help the patient or client to build resilience, resolve symptoms of anxiety or anger, challenge maladaptive behaviours and cognitive distortions and learn to process the memories of the traumatic events, so that the patient can go on to live a healthy and productive life. These techniques can be incorporated into any clinical encounter.

A patient or client, who is taught Self-Hypnosis, by a clinician, can learn to self-regulate emotions associated with flashbacks, hyperarousal, nightmares and triggers associated with the traumatic event.

This webinar workshop is experiential. Participants will be given lots of opportunity to practice the hypnosis techniques being taught in the workshop. During their experiential activities, participants will be asked to share their own experiences with trauma.
