The Indoor Urban Sketcher: September & October Art Workshops with Taryn Lee @ the RBC Patient and Family Learning Space

Event date: -
Event type: Single day (a day or less)
In this 2 hour art workshop, you’ll learn the basics of Urban Sketching with a slight twist - we’ll be staying cozy indoors while we create! Taryn will walk you through what Urban Sketching is, art materials/supplies you may need, and how you can use the five senses while Urban Sketching.
‘Creative Stations’ will be set up to encourage you to take a deeper look at the street views outside CAMH. Draw the passerby’s, city dogs on their daily walks, Queen West storefronts, parked cars, or the sidewalk bench. You’ll learn how to use ‘observational drawing’ and try a few drawing exercises to capture the city around you.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have taken a closer look at our city and have the sketches to prove it!
This workshop is useful for:
Well-being, mindfulness, and stress relief
Being present
Exploring the creative process
Learning new art techniques or mediums
Connecting through communal art making
All required materials will be provided by CAMH on the day of the workshop. Pre-registration is required as space is limited per group.
