Alcohol, cannabis and nicotine are the three most commonly consumed psychoactive substances among young people in Canada. Substance use is a familiar term to most adults, but many do not fully understand the possible risks facing youth. They may feel uncomfortable discussing drug use with kids and teens, so they don’t make it a part of their regular safety conversations.
Join us for this virtual webinar to explore the current substance use landscape in Canada, including youth trends, factors influencing youth substance use, risks and strategies to reduce harms. We will also examine best practices for parents and professionals to discuss drug use with young people in Canda in an effort to reduce stigma surrounding these conversations.
