This training is suitable for: Any professional or volunteer who is in a position to influence the support received by a grieving child. This includes front-line workers, medical professionals, educators, clergy, social workers, administrators, residential workers, counsellors, funeral service providers and hospice volunteers.
This certificate program is comprised of five individual learning modules/webinars that together equips participants with the skills to provide support to children, youth, and families grieving the dying, or death of someone they care about. Create your ideal learning plan, take the full certificate program, or any of the individual webinars; whatever fits your professional development needs best.
Individual Webinar Overview:
Module 1: Children at the Bedside: Preparing children for the death of someone close to them
Module 2: When Death Darkens the Door: Supporting Bereaved Children and Youth.
Module 3: Using Mindfulness and Compassion to Support Grieving Children/Families.
Module 4: When Grief Gets More Complicated: Supporting the harder-to-serve populations.
Module 5: Dancing in the Darkness: Creative approaches to working with grieving children/youth.
Each Individual Webinar may be taken separate from the Certificate Program as stand-alone webinar however, all five webinars must be completed to receive the certificate.
