Mental Health Matters! 

That is why from May 13-17, 2019 Unison Health and Community Services will be celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week. Each Unison site will host different mental health activities like an art class (Tree of Life), laughter yoga, movie night, wellness workshop, and a free trip to the Royal Ontario Museum.

Tree of Life: The Tree of Life invites people who have experienced difficult times to explore various aspects of their lives from a place of strength using tools like art, journaling, and other creative expressions.

When: 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (light lunch provided)

Tuesday May 14, 2019

Laughter Yoga: A great way to heal & relive stress! Laughter Yoga incorporates unique exercises, that combine unconditional laughter and rhythmic breathing.

When: 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m.

Wednesday May 15, 2019

Movie Night (The Blind Stigma): Produced and Directed by Stacy-Ann Buchanan, The Blind Stigma is an award-winning documentary that discusses mental health within the Black community. It chronicles and testifies the stories of five individuals on their trials and triumphs with mental health.

When: 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.

Wellness Workshop: Join us as we discuss different ways, we can better understand mental health and wellness as a whole.  As a group we will explore topics like self-compassion and community care.

When: 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Friday May 17, 2019

A Trip to The Royal Ontario Museum (R.O.M.): Join us on a free trip to the Royal Ontario Museum (R.O.M.)  Together we will explore the museum and enjoy a light lunch as we discuss mental health and wellness in a community setting.

When: 10:00 a.m.
