Join us for an introduction to Motivational Interviewing where we will explore how to enhance our conversation style with clients as they contemplate change. We will discuss topics such as how to explore ambivalence, roll with resistance, and elicit change-talk. Learn how to work within the Motivational Interviewing spirit where showing a genuine interest in the client’s perspective leads to further collaboration.

Facilitator Biographies:
Cheryl Robinson | FourCAST
Cheryl Robinson is a Registered Psychotherapist and has been working within the Addiction field for the past thirteen years. Cheryl has worked in various programs at FourCounties Addiction Services Team – Intake, Community Withdrawal Management, counselling, groups and as a liaison from FourCAST within a Crisis program.
Jennifer Maddan | FourCAST
Jennifer Maddan is a Registered Psychotherapist and has been with Four Counties Addiction Services Team for the past eleven years. Jenn's current role is on the Intake and Community Withdrawal Management Team. She also does work in the Problem Gambling program at FourCAST.

Who should attend this training?
QoC training sessions are designed for helping professionals in Peterborough City and County. We define "helping professional" as anyone in a position of interacting with people in providing a service.
Will food be provided?
Coffee, tea, and light snacks are included. Lunch will not be provided. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the Lions Centre. Please feel free to contact the Project Lead for recommendations.
Is there parking?
There is free parking at the Lions Centre, but come early as spaces can fill up fast! Street parking is also available.

The cost of this training has been subsidized through a partnership with the Peterborough Drug Strategy and its members. Tickets are sold on a cost-recovery basis. Bursaries are available upon request.
