Description: Working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized groups can be incredibly difficult within the existing political environment, as clients’ concerns are often focused on external factors that we may not have control over in session or out. This session will help you better understand some of the issues facing the 2SLGBTQIA+ population and how you can help them navigate a time of uncertainty and fear in the wake of changing political climates.
This training is led by Michelle and Jennifer, two experienced psychotherapists who work primarily with the transgender and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Jennifer is based in Ontario and Michelle works in the UK; together, they co-facilitate a variety of workshops through Trans Atlantic Training that equip therapists with inclusive, affirming approaches for working with 2SLGBTQIA+ clients.
