Nicotine Addiction 101

The Waypoint Research Institute is pleased to present our last Waypoint Talks session of the year, Nicotine Addiction 101. Dr. Hassan Mir will provide an educational and informative talk for physicians and healthcare professionals on smoking cessation. Click here to register!

Dr. Mir is a cardiologist in the Divisions of Cardiology and Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Mir has a strong interest in clinical research and recently completed the Program in Clinical Effectiveness at Harvard University. Throughout his career he has been recognized for his outstanding clinical, research, and leadership skills at the local, national, and international level. His clinical practice includes inpatient and outpatient general cardiology, with a special interest in interventional echocardiography. Dr. Mir plays an integral role in the UOHI’s Smoking Cessation Program and the Ottawa Model for Smoking Cessation.
