Click here to register for Spotlight on Opioids, August 19th from 6:00-7:00PM PST (9:00-10:00PM EST).

Opioids have contributed to over 52,000 deaths in Canada since 2016, as well as nearly 50,000 hospitalizations. When prescribed, opioids provide short-term pain relief — but used recreationally, they can cause euphoria, drowsiness, vomiting, confusion, and even fatal respiratory arrest. Many young people believe prescription medications are safe to use without a prescription.

Join us on Wednesday, August 19th at 6:00PM PST (9:00PM EST) for a free educational workshop on opioids. In this webinar, we'll explore the history of opioids, their medical uses, as well as the ongoing, life-threatening risks of certain opioids — including fentanyl. We'll explore why kids may choose to use them, responding to overdoses, and provide more information to help prepare you to talk about opioids with youth in your family and community.
