Call for Proposals: Peer Support Strong Conference (submit by Dec. 1)

PeerWorks and Lived Experience & Recovery Network (LERN) are back for the fourth year with our Annual Peer Support Strong Conference! We are holding the conference virtually on February 6th, 2024. This year's theme: Peer Support Revolution: What's Next?

We truly are seeing a revolution in Ontario as university campuses across the province, including the University of Toronto, McMaster University, Western University, Nipissing University, Laurentian University, and Toronto Metropolitan University, embrace the power of peer support as part of the health and wellness services they offer. Beyond universities, workplaces across Ontario are also recognizing the importance of peer support and finding ways to incorporate them into their mental health offerings.

Hence, our theme: Peer Support Revolution: What's Next? Peer Support Organizations and Consumer Survivor Initiatives have believed in the power of peer support from the beginning. You are the pioneers! This is why we welcome you to share your thoughts on how you envision the future of peer support in Ontario. We hope this year's conference can be a time for members of our community to come together to discuss, ideate, and collaborate on ways to make peer support an integral part of the healthcare system in Ontario.

We invite you to submit a proposal to our Fourth Annual Peer Support Strong Conference!

We seek success stories, innovations, strengths, and lessons learned. Topics may include but are not limited to:

• Innovation in the peer support space
• Peer support initiatives in adjacent sectors
• Research initiatives in the field of peer support
• University-Peer Support Sector collaboration

Your Proposal should include:

• Description of your proposed presentation, outlining the topic/theme you would like to present. (300 words or less)
• The anticipated length of presentations is typically 45 - 60 mins (it can be shorter)
• Short presenter bio
• Please indicate if this will be an individual/group presentation (for the latter, please indicate how many presenters are on your team).
• Please elaborate on how your presentation relates to this year's theme.
• Please indicate if there are any fees associated with your presentation.
• Your availability on February 6th, 2024
