Description:
We are on the cusp of a revolution in how technology and biology are affecting teenage brains. This training will clarify how adolescent development affects risk-taking; how to ensure optimal outcomes in psychotherapy with teens; the potential role that behavioural intervention technologies (AI, chatbots, and etc.) may play in conducting psychotherapy in the future. Relationships will matter, but how does that look in the 21st century?
Learning objectives:
- Understand how teenage brain development contributes to risk-taking
- Have a framework for how to optimize psychotherapy outcomes in teenagers
- Appreciate the impact of “neuro-culture” on stigma reduction
- Appreciate the challenges and opportunities that technology (AI, chatbots, apps, and etc.) presents for the future of psychotherapy with teenagers

Continuing Education (CE) information: 3 CE hours
SickKids CCMH Learning Institute has approval from the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) for participants of our programming to apply the number of CE hours earned in the program towards their continuing education hours.
Other licensing boards and professional organizations will grant continuing education credits for attendance at their own discretion; participants will need to submit the course outline and certificate for their consideration.
