This panel discussion will explore the important role parents and caregivers can play in promoting gambling awareness and harm prevention. Bringing together perspectives from public health, policy, prevention, and lived experience, panelists will discuss why early conversations about gambling matter, how gambling is evolving among youth, and the role of parents and caregivers as protective factors in preventing gambling-related harms.

The discussion will highlight strategies for starting meaningful conversations with youth about gambling and how to identify problematic behaviour among youth. Participants will also hear from someone with lived experience about the realities of gambling-related harms, the journey toward recovery, and the importance of prevention. Panelists will also share information about harm reduction approaches and available resources to support youth, young adults, and families.
