Description: This webinar will provide an overview of key information about traumatic event experiences and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It will provide concrete information about what PTSD is, what keeps it going, and the different treatments that research shows help it get better. This will include an overview of individual psychotherapies, couple psychotherapies, and online self-help interventions that have been shown to be useful in the treatment of PTSD. .
About Dr. Skye Fitzpatrick PhD
Dr. Skye Fitzpatrick is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at York University and the director of the Treating and Understanding Life-threatening behaviour and Posttraumatic stress (TULiP lab). Dr. Fitzpatrick is focused on demystifying, destigmatizing, and broadening access to treatments for borderline personality disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder. Dr. Fitzpatrick has published ~100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters to these ends. She has also been awarded over $9.5 million CAD in research funding for work in these and related areas.
