SFT is a family education group for family and friends supporting someone with severe mental illness. The 4-week program includes:

Week 1 : Psychosis, Schizophrenia and Mental Illness (causes, development and symptoms of mental illness)

Week 2 : Treatment and Recovery (How the brain function, how does med's work, side effects of med's, substance use and mental illness, strategies promoting recovery)

Week 3 : Coping as a family (Self care, healthy boundary, and effective communication)

Week 4 : Mental Health System and Advocacy (how does the system work, CTO, Power of Attorney, Justice and Mental Health, Voluntary and Involuntary admission, etc….).
