EQUIP Health Care is hosting a webinar for Health Care Educators on March 10th, 2026!

This webinar will invite participants to deepen their knowledge about the intersections between gender-based violence and substance use, and learn about a new suite of resources that can support education and practice. A range of learning resources and practice tools will be shared to support trauma- and violence-informed, destigmatizing approaches to promoting substance use health in the context of GBV.

Intended audience: Anyone working as a health care educator across health care settings and educational institutions interested in teaching about GBV, substance use, and mental health through a health equity lens.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the key intersecting dynamics among gender-based violence, substance use, and stigma.
  • Describe the impact of these dynamics on health and health care, and the implications for health educators, their students, and their teaching.
  • Evaluate EQUIP’s evidence-informed tools and resources for use in their teaching, including a game that focuses on strengths-based approaches to GBV and substance use health, and e-learning modules for both educators and their students.
