Supporting Francophone Caregivers in Northern Ontario: Information and Exchange
Event date: -
Event type: Single day (a day or less)
There are 4 million caregivers across Ontario offering physical or emotional support to a family member, partner, friend, or neighbour. Caregivers provide an estimated 75% of the care in our health care system. Yet 63% feel they have hit their breaking point. Francophone caregivers in Northern Ontario face unique challenges in supporting the person they care for and accessing support for their own well-being.
Hosted by the Ontario Caregiver Organization (OCO) in collaboration with the Réseau du mieux-être francophone du Nord de l’Ontario, this information and exchange session will allow you to:
- Learn about OCO’s free French-language programs and services for caregivers
- Join the discussion about the unique needs of Francophone caregivers in the North, and ways we can collaborate to address the gaps
Target audience: care and service providers who support Francophone clients in health, mental health, addictions, long-term care, home and community care, social and community service sectors in Northern Ontario
