Train-the-Trainer Workshop on Call-In-Cards for Anti-Black Racism Action
Event date: -
Event location: Offline
Event address: 519 Kaneff Tower, York University
Event type: Single day (a day or less)
YouthREX is excited to host an in-person train-the-trainer workshop on how to use the Call-In-Cards for Anti-Black Racism Action to facilitate dialogues that connect understandings of anti-Black racism to anti-Black racism practice.
The Call-In-Cards are four decks of 16 cards across four themes with examples of experiences of anti-Black racism by Black youth in different areas of their life – school, work, play, etc. Each of the 16 cards features a scenario on one side and four prompts on the other.
The workshop will include a session with Dr. Carol Wade on how critical self-reflexivity about the 16 scenarios can lead to the identification of gaps and opportunities to support the ongoing work of combatting anti-Black racism.
To be eligible, you must be currently working in a program that serves youth and have received approval from your organization that you are able to attend in-person on Tuesday, October 14th (9:30AM to 3:30PM ET).
If you have any questions, please email us at info@youthrex.com.
Apply by to join us for this free in-person workshop! All costs for refreshments, lunch, and a physical Call-In-Cards pouch are covered.
