The Safer Space program aims to help create environments where LGBTQ2S+ community members/families feel visible, safer, and included. This Webinar is an introduction to LGBTQ2S+ terminology and definitions related to gender and sexuality, gender pronouns, privilege, an introduction to alliship, creating safer spaces, why it matters, and practical steps to inclusivity. 

 

Tara Buchannan is a cisgender lesbian that uses she and her pronouns. She is passionate about and has been working in Developmental Services for over 10 years. She has done frontline direct care and now works in a Supported Employment Program. Tara is also passionate about LGBTQ2S+ social justice and chaired the Brantford Pride Committee for 5 years and has been an active member of The Bridge for many more. The Bridge is a social justice committee that is committed to addressing gaps in service for members of the LGBTQ2S+ community in Brantford and Brant County.
