Working through clinician triggers using emotion-focused techniques: A workshop for self-care and self-exploration

Live webinar February 28, 2022 | 1 to 4 p.m. EST
Facilitator: Adele Lafrance, PhD, C.Psych.

Triggers or “clinician blocks” are normal and to be expected. Regardless of the age of the clinician, years of experience or extent of training. In fact, we believe that the capacity to recognize one’s triggers, and the willingness to work through them, are notable strengths.

In this intermediate level training, Dr. Adele Lafrance will present emotion-focused theory, tools, and techniques to promote increased awareness, skill and confidence in navigating internal triggers and/or team stressors and conflicts. This training will offer a container for clinicians to engage in self-care practices while engaging in personal and professional development. Dr. Lafrance will review tools, techniques, and supervision interventions to support clinicians to regain access to their clinical intuition on their own or with peers.

Research has demonstrated that these activities can lead to significant and positive changes in the professional domain showing increased:

  • job satisfaction
  • better self-care
  • less burn-out
  • increased skills / increased ability for case conceptualization.

As well as positive changes in the personal domain showing:

  • improved personal relationships
  • investment in personal growth

The International Institute for EFFT recognizes this training as a half-day of in-person training.

Registration fee: $125.00. Student and group rates are available.
