The pandemic has changed the way mental health services are delivered. Care has shifted from the traditional in-person model to virtual online services and many organizations are adopting a hybrid model of service delivery.
In all therapy conversations, and especially in single sessions and brief work, therapists can engage with the narrative therapy concept of doubly listening—seeking two stories, to listen for and enquire into the stories of life that are outside of the problem story.
Screen time isn’t a new concern, but the pandemic changed the scale of the issue, as children and young people had to rely on technology for school, hobbies and social activities. Now, we’re seeing the impacts of technology overuse on their mental health.
