TBDHU "Feel High?...Don't Drive" Impaired driving campaign
Hi all,
Please check out this impaired driving campaign developed by Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) titled: “Feel High?...Dont’ Drive”. This campaign is a primarily social media driven that discusses the following:
- Communicate that alcohol and drugs can dangerously impair driving capabilities and has health, financial, legal, and non-legal consequences.
- Differentiate the effects (physiological in context of driving applicability) of commonly legal and illicit drugs.
It includes 3 main components:

- focused primarily on Cannabis Impaired driving but also discusses other drug classes and alcohol on website with resource materials.
- Discusses: what impaired driving is, effects of different drug classes on driving, poly substance use, enforcement/law, insurance, and tips to avoid impaired driving.

- Myths informed through MTO, Ottawa public health, and TBDHU surveys.
- Video concept modeled similarly to Colorado State of Transportation "Cannabis Conversation" videos. Used with permission from CODOT.
