Research snapshot: People who use methamphetamines more likely to discontinue their treatment for opioid use disorder

Researchers looked at all studies that examined methamphetamine use and its impact on people who are using medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). The analysis compared people on MOUD who used methamphetamine and those who did not. All studies showed that patients were more likely to discontinue MOUD treatment if they used methamphetamine. Those who used methamphetamine more often were more likely to discontinue MOUD treatment than those who used it less often.

Looking for new moderators

Hello,

We are looking to add new moderators to our site. https://www.paywhatyoucanpeersupport.com/

We need a new OCD moderator and a new domestic abuse/narcissistic abuse survivor group moderator. We give 80% of what participants pay (what they can) but in the near future as we get more grants and funding we will be paying the moderators a base rate of $50/session and we would ultimately like that to grow to $100/session.

Research snapshot: Study identifies factors that deter or motivate people who use drugs to get the COVID-19 vaccine

People who use drugs have lower vaccination uptake than the general population and experience a greater burden of harm from vaccine-preventable diseases. Researchers conducted interviews with people who use drugs to identify the factors that enable and deter them from getting vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus in Canada. They also looked at possible interventions to support their decision-making related to vaccination. Results showed that many partially or unvaccinated participants said they lacked knowledge about the COVID-19 vaccine, particularly its usefulness and benefits.
