When is cannabis use medical? When is it not? How do we decide?

The mandate of the Cannabis Knowledge Exchange Hub is to share evidence about the non-medical use of cannabis.

But what exactly is “non-medical” use of cannabis, and how do we differentiate it from “medical” use? This question is one to which our team returns time and time again.

One way to view the distinction is whether the cannabis is prescribed by a health care provider and accessed through the medical cannabis system.

Why do people who use opioids or stimulants also use cannabis?

Many people who use drugs such as opioids and stimulants also use cannabis.

New research from BC suggests that cannabis use may serve a wide range of purposes for these people, including recreation, reducing cravings for other drugs or mitigating withdrawal from other drugs.

“Police officers carry the name, but don’t monopolize the practice. Policing is structurally integral to all of our institutions, and is carried out both “benevolently” and violently.”

Why it’s so Difficult to Accept You’re Addicted to Weed?

Hello everyone, I've just posted my first blog on cannabis addiction. I hope this adds to the conversation on this topic as I see very little quality discussions about it.

Accepting defeat to cannabis, usually considered a lightweight drug, can be humiliating. It’s akin to being the hare who loses a race to a turtle or to wetting your bed at your first sleepover. The two realities shouldn’t mix. When they do, a deep sense of shame is the natural response.

Food insecurity VS Covid-19

Hi everyone!!!

I had a story/blog published on the Mighty yesterday, I speak reflectively through an experiential lens to the covid crisis on how it affects individuals living in the North who struggle with poverty, mental illness and food insecurity. FYI there is a small trigger warning on it. Very real talk about the crisis some individuals like myself are facing.
