Thank you
Leading the Way in Mental Health Training and Education
At SickKids CCMH Learning Institute, we are always looking for avenues to better support the professionals in our community with the Mental Health work they do.
Our focus groups have drawn attention to a need for more Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) approaches (workshops/certificate programs), for professionals who work with children and youth.
Recent regulatory changes in Ontario affect how alcohol can be served and sold at events hosted on municipal property. Some of these changes may increase the risk of health harms to patrons, event staff, and the public due to alcohol use, which remains a leading, preventable cause of disease, injury, and death in Ontario. Municipalities have the authority to reduce these potential risks by requiring events to adopt additional mitigation measures; this also has the benefit of reducing liability to the municipality.
In a conversations we've been having here on EENet Connect, a couple of people brought up the topic of whether there are any residential addiction programs currently available that use a harm-reduction rather than an abstinence-based approach. Does anyone have any info on this?
Thanks!
