The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) has released a report, The State of Mental Health in Canada 2024, which uses data from across the country to provide a detailed look at the landscape of mental health, addictions, and substance use health care in Canada.
Some highlights:
Mental health care is grossly underfunded, and mental health is often a privilege available only to those who can afford it.
Access to care depends on where you live and Indigenous and racialized people face the greatest barriers to care.

The Centre for Mindfulness Studies is hosting another FREE mindfulness-based program for frontline staff, caregivers, and healthcare providers THIS FALL. This six-week mental health and mindfulness program was designed to help develop and sustain emotional well-being by learning coping skills and developing strategies to deal with difficult situations and feelings of isolation.
The CARE Program is being funded by the ECHO Foundation.
