The Lancet Psychiatry, Mental Health Innovation Network, MHPSS.net and United for Global Mental Health have launched a series of weekly webinars designed to provide policy makers and the wider health community with the latest evidence on the impact of COVID-19 on mental health and how to address it.
How we work has changed during the COVID-19 pandemic for most of us, especially for front-line workers in the addiction and mental health sector. Self-care is especially important at this time. We may not be aware of the extra stress caused by this situation, but it's there and only gets worse if we don't do something about it.
Addictions and Mental Health Ontario (AMHO) has released two Snapshots about the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health and addiction sector:
The City of Toronto has developed a COVID-19 Mental Health Support Strategy that responds to the needs of vulnerable residents.
As we all cope with the mental health impacts of COVID-19 for our clients, it is important to recognize that frontline mental health workers also need support. The government has created 5 hubs for online or virtual support options. Any staff needing mental health and addiction support given the stresses created by COVID can connect with Healthcare Worker Support Service Staff at any of these hubs. Staff are eligible to self-refer to these programs (links below), and they may find this a more comfortable process than self-referring internally.

Workshop Description
Helpful article from INTEGRATION AND IMPLEMENTATION INSIGHTS for front line mental health workers trying to work in advancing… practices for the communities we serve. The authors put substance to the idea of thinking beyond the individual, ringing true of the breadth involved with care system change that aims for “the long term” instead of “quick changes.”

Expand your Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) knowledge and skills starting with Part 2 of our 3-Part DBT Program.
This article from Journal of Implementation Science helps to frame the infrastructure of implementing practice change, via a snapshot of the players and mezzo system in actual practice.
I found it helps me as a front line worker think about my own efforts at practice change can be understood--- my place in the dynamic and how I could be more strategic in seeking and giving advice.
