Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest

The Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest brings together addiction and mental health service providers, researchers and subject matter experts in the fields of gambling, technology/Internet use and video gaming to collaborate and share knowledge on emerging trends and clinical best practices.

I found this a very interesting article, but find it has muddied the waters for me.  This guy is getting filthy rich on the Internet.  He has a huge audience and while that's worrying, he is using his wealth to help those around him.

So, is he a hero or a villain?  Trying to weigh the pros and cons leaves me somewhat ambivalent.  He's helping those in need while possibly doing harm to his audience.  If I had the ability to convince his whole audience to get away from their screens, what would happen to the people he helps?

I don't think that his videos provide much more than entertainment for his audience.  So, even if not addicted, his videos would seem to be a waste of time and lead to a more isolated and sedentary lifestyle.
