Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest

The Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest brings together addiction and mental health service providers, researchers and subject matter experts in the fields of gambling, technology/Internet use and video gaming to collaborate and share knowledge on emerging trends and clinical best practices.

This scoping review summarizes 26 articles related to research on problem gambling interventions made available through the internet. It was stated that internet-based interventions show potential but their effectiveness compared with in-person treatment is unknown, and possible unintended side effects are not clear. However, such interventions have shown benefits for persons facing barriers in accessing problem gambling treatment. You can read the full article here.
