The Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest brings together addiction and mental health service providers, researchers and subject matter experts in the fields of gambling, technology/Internet use and video gaming to collaborate and share knowledge on emerging trends and clinical best practices.

  • Problem internet use is associated with negative academic performance and lower school connectedness
  • negative academic performance and lower school connectedness is stronger with older adolescents
  • gender difference: females experience lower academic performance with 3-4 hours or more than 5 hours of daily use vs male with 5 hours or more of daily use
  • stay withing the 2 hours limitation of daily use
