This fairly brief article does a good job of summarizing pros and cons of gaming, both physically and mentally.

It lists several gaming injuries, which I believe would show good objective evidence of overuse.

It provides criteria for identifying Internet Gaming Disorder (As per the American Psychological Association).

It provides tips on "Gaming in Moderation" including several tips on preventing injury (One of which I have started using this afternoon, regarding giving your eyes a break for every 20 minutes of screen time).

This article is very informative.

Listing the different types of cons with one of them being withdrawal. I am currently seeing more and more young individuals withdrawing from school as they are spending to much time on their games. I think it is important for individuals to be known of the signs of a risk for addiction as more and more parents have leaned into technology to help with different aspects of our lives. When I attend the elementary schools, youth have access to technology at their finger tips, using computers on a regular basis. This is a pro for education, how to much use as noted in the article and lead to withdrawal, injuries and sever mental health concerns.
