Screenagers Blog | What Do AI, Substance Use, and Video Gaming Have in Common? (screenagersmovie.com)
These are 3 forms of temptations that people have to deal with:
-kids and adults are faced with determining when to do the work versus a short-cut (Chat GPT)
-people use substances to feel a certain way (to fit in, to feel less anxious, to cope with stress, to escape). It's rewarding to feel this way.
-video gaming: temptations arise. For example, do I do my homework versus play video games into the night?

Parents can have conversations with their children about mitigating these temptations and this article provides some tips.

The topic of temptation is an interesting one, and I agree that one of the suggestions of naming/labelling it is a good one (i.e., name it to tame it). When is it okay to give into temptation and when should we resist? The answer might be different for different people and at different times in our lives as well but by naming and acknowledging it we can be more conscience of how we make that decision.
