The Gambling, Gaming & Technology Use Community of Interest brings together addiction and mental health service providers, researchers and subject matter experts in the fields of gambling, technology/Internet use and video gaming to collaborate and share knowledge on emerging trends and clinical best practices.

-Gamers are playing more games than ever before could increase more people developing problems with it.

-Different games will have different impacts on the brain.  Cognitive skills can be improved and making quick decisions.  Action games have positive effects on perception and other things.

-More learning gained from smaller sessions spaced out over time.

-Talked about developing digital medicine for people with disorders such as ADHD to help them focus and help with memory.

-Can add physical movements into the gaming so it doesn't just focus on cognitive development.

As a coach for families struggling with a disordered gamer, I have concerns that  some of the content in this video will be deemed justification for a gamer to play as a means to improve their cognitive skills, and the latter part about regulating and playing in smaller amounts will be ignored. I'd like to see an education component added to show what excessive gaming can do to the brain.
